The Windy City Spinning Guild is a membership group of
handspinners from the Chicagoland area who meet monthly to spin fiber
into yarn, using spinning wheels and handspindles.
Our aims are to:
1) Promote education about handspinning, during our
monthly meetings, by:
a) having focused educational programs,
b) encouraging high standards of quality for more accomplished
spinners, and
c) having mentored lessons for beginners.
2) Foster the enjoyment of handspinning, by:
a) providing a feeling of fellowship at our meetings, and
b) handspinning in public, on occasion, as outreach.
3) Encourage the use of handspun yarns and support the handspinning
community, by:
a) posting fiber-related events on our website,
b) having 1-day workshops and dye-days, and posting these on our website, and
c) providing links on our website to other fiber-related websites.
